a wellness & retreat studio

Come rest a while,
then rise restored.

Stillwater makes room for the kind of rest that actually reaches you. Unhurried retreats, quiet one-to-one sessions, and small gatherings for people ready to set the weight down for a season.

Even the fields are given a season to lie fallow, and still they come back green.
our story

We built the place we kept looking for and never quite found.

Somewhere quiet enough to hear yourself think, and warm enough that you'd want to stay.

Stillwater began as a borrowed cabin, a slow kettle, and a handful of people worn thin by good lives lived at full speed. We noticed how quickly the shoulders dropped once the phones went into the basket. How honest the conversations became around a real fire.

So we made it a practice. Everything here moves at the pace of a long exhale — the meals, the mornings, the walks that have no particular destination. You don't have to earn the rest. You just have to arrive.

ways to be here

Three unhurried
ways to come home to rest.

01

Retreats

Two or three nights at Cedar House with a small group. Slow mornings, tended meals, unstructured afternoons, and evening gatherings around the fire. You leave with nothing to show for it except a nervous system that finally believes it's safe to slow down.

seasonal · up to twelve guests 2–3 nights
02

Sessions

A standing hour, one to one, for the seasons that ask more of you. We sit together with what you're carrying — a decision, a transition, a grief, a good thing you're afraid to want — and let it breathe. No fixing agenda. Just an honest companion and a room that isn't in a hurry.

one to one · in person or by call monthly
03

Gatherings

Evening tables and half-day workshops for people who are tired of gathering only over screens. A shared meal, a simple practice, a few good questions, and the kind of unrushed conversation that reminds you belonging isn't something you have to perform your way into.

in their words
I came in bracing for something to be required of me. Instead I was handed a blanket, a cup of tea, and permission to stop. I didn't know how badly I needed it until I was already crying by the fire.
